Nethron

Nethron is a nation-state situated on a large peninsula off Dunieth to the north-east. It is bordered by the Kyaww-catar Province of the Nikosian Empire to the west. Its capital (also its 1st Prefecture) is Kotyodam, also the seat of the State Marshal, Nethron's head of state. The nation as a whole is divided into sixteen prefectures.

Nethron has had a rich culture of warfare since its secession from the then-independent Kyaww-catar. As a whole, the citizens of Nethron take great pride in supporting the Nethrian war, both directly and indirectly. This is supported by the state religion, which is a version of the Primordial Faith with Morik elevated above the other Primordials in importance.

Government

The State Marshal is Nethron's leading rank in both its government and military. They are the leading member of the Generals' Assembly. The position is currently held by one Akito Thraan.

The Prefectures

Nethron's secondary jurisdictions are called prefectures and each is represented by one of the sixteen stars in Nethron's flag and coat of arms. The holder of supreme executive power (deferring only to the Generals' Assembly's majority decisions or the State Marshal themselves) in each prefecture is called a General-Governor. History

Settlement

The Nethrian Peninsula was first settled by the Loup Lowlanders, forced to move by the encroachment of the Kyaww-fel in the Pre-Draconic Era, which led to the foundation of Old Nethron, the predecessor to modern Nethron.

Under Kyaww-catar

The Kingdom of Kyaww-catar had been founded on top of the Kyaww-fel's conquest of the region, and, following its complete dominance there, they started looking to the east. Following a few years' long campaign, Old Nethron was dissolved and its land was under the Kingdom's management, and would remain as such until the Nikosian Empire's birth in the south.

Independence and the New Nethron

In 7855 DC, the Leograu Empire was toppled and replaced by the Nikosian Empire almost immediately, which would then, several decades later, set upon itself the task of annexing Kyaww-catar in the lengthy Whitescarf Wars, where near their end in 7949, the Nethrian home government decided to secede from the Kingdom, as it lacked the resources to both fight the Nikosian Empire and enforce its claim on the Nethrian peninsula.
