Human

Humans are a species of civilized peoples that stand apart from the other sentient species of Zairis in that that they originate from another world.

Biology

The most immediately obvious trait of humans that distinguishes them from the other civilized people is the fact that their skin is for the most part bare, without the cover of fur, scales, or feathers. Its color ranges from very pale to a very dark brown, which is said to reflect their ancestry in terms of regions of their homeworld - however the majority of humans as of the 10100s have a tanned complexion, leaning towards the lighter side on average.

Auratics

The most important distinction that humans have from the other civilized peoples is their lesser auratic potential, which is primarily due to their lack of a third elemental alignment, which is the minimum for the other peoples (not counting aura blank individuals. It has been noted that the first humans to arrive in Zairis were all aura blank, suggesting that the aura phenomenon is unique to Zairis, but the first humans born on the planet possessed a natural aura, albeit aligned only to a singular element. No humans existed with a second elemental alignment until the first such human, Ariane Maes, was born in 8652 DC.

History

Piercing the Cloudguard

The appearance of humans in Zairis is a well documented phenomenon that was observed all across Mithros, where the entirety of their fleet of vessels pierced the Cloudguard and proceeded to crash land in various locations around 3000 DC.

Colonial aspirations

While the humans' spacefaring vessels were out for the count, much of their technology still survived for the moment, of which the most important was their intrafleet communications systems, which they used to coordinate their efforts to establish a colony in the north-east of Mithros, situated where the modern city of Shrasand is as of 10110. The colony was christened 'the DeAstra Republic', and remained in operation for several hundred years before ultimately failing and having its territory reabsorbed by native factions.

Assimilation into native cultures

Following the dissolution of the DeAstra Republic, the human species scattered across Mithros and beyond and assimiliated into the native cultures, bringing their mastery of what little remained of the still-functioning tech from aboard the spacefaring vessel with them.
