Mortshire

Mortshire is an administrative unit formed from a loose coalition of farms and small villages in the Blackwood region of Mithros, near where it borders with the Gray Marsh. It is technically controlled by the Coalition, but as a low priority zone, it is mostly left to govern itself free of interference by the Coalition bureaucracy.

Population

Of its 800 residents, most are black dracons, night Fenrans, and humans. Most of them worship a local Kami known as the Thrice-Visaged Bearer of Bounty.

Industry

Mortshire's primary industry is agriculture, in particular fungiculture, as the climate is uniquely suited for it, making the area the premier originator of high quality mushrooms in Zairis, of a wide variety of species for both culinary and alchemical uses.

Geography

The area that makes up Mortshire is a sizeable plain sandwiched in between the swamplands of the Gray Marsh to the south and west, and the dark forest of Blackwood proper to the north and east, and as such, it takes on many of the characteristics of its neighboring regions, such as frequent cloudy weather and precipitation.
