Mithrosi cuisine

The cosmopolitan nature of Mithrosi culture has accustomed the people of the region to a wide variety of food and drink traditions, but it nevertheless has a strong foundation of its own that the majority of its cuisine still draws on.

Alcoholic beverages

Literal Firebreth Whiskey

This variety of whiskey was originally conceived of as a prank, making whoever drinks it breathe real fire, but quickly gained popularity as a party trick. The firebreathing effect is achieved by introducing Fire Aura residue during the distillation process.

Quentin's Choice Brown Rum

This variety of rum is made in a Crows' Landing distillery out of cane sugar imported from the Mahogany Isles.

Tower District Signature Red

Named for the Tower District of Drakeport, this red wine is made in a winery north of Drakeport that has ties to House Ressh, and is highly popular in Royalist territories.

Viridian Orchards Cider

A significant quantity of the apples grown in the Viridian Orchards are used in the making of this sweet cider, that has received various honors and awards, most notably being officially endorsed by the Viridian Circle.

Meat dishes

Drake Steak

The meat of most drakes is considered unpalatable to most, but the mountain drake is an exception due to its more quasi-mammalian characteristics compared to other drakes. Mountain drake meat is rare due to the relative difficulty of hunting the beast in its preferred habitat, so it is considered a delicacy only available to those of at least moderate wealth. The particular popularity of the drake steak is derived from a popular marketing campaign in the 9950s by a butcher shop in Cania seeking to promote its niche meats with an amusing rhyme scheme.

The dish itself is frequently composed of a steak cut of mountain drake meat, with potatoes, premium grade Mortshire mushroom sauce, asparagus, and bloodberries on the side.

Other cuts of mountain drake are also relatively popular but have not reached similarly culturally significant status in dishes.
