Bloodmaw Clan
The Bloodmaw Clan, or Stam Blothgin in Gardic, is a clan of frost Fenrans based in Frysgard who are infamous for banditry in the region, piracy in the Wintersea, and raids on the northern coast of Mithros, as well as the practice of various customs condemned as barbarous by the Nordguard, who define them as a 'rogue clan'. It is sometimes referred to as the 'Sixth Great Clan of Frysgard'.
History
The Bloodmaw Clan originated from the group of warriors who pledged loyalty to Tyr Bloodmaw, the Bloody-Handed after he claimed his divinity from Fenrir by biting on his throat during a duel. The clan derives its name from this act.
Culture
The Bloodmaw clan's culture is structured around the survival of the fittest, and the right of the strong to take what they desire from those who are unable to defend their property. Thus, the Bloodmaw are predisposed to become warriors or reavers, and little else.
Appearance
All members of the Bloodmaw are Frost Fenrans. They do not trim their fur or hair, and they stain the fur around their mouth with red dye derived from bloodberries, in accordance to their clan's name. Those who reach a high enough kill count (as counted by collected trophies) are allowed to dye their hands in similar fashion. Most eschew clothing, as wearing it is seen as a sign of weakness, only donning armor for combat.
Combat
The Bloodmaw value strength and cunning, and little else. They do not think highly of honor or 'similar foibles', and thus they fight dirty, utilizing everything they can to their advantage in combat. Tyr instructs those clan members he deems worthy in the art of Berserkergang, a style of combat where the practitioner works themselves into a state of frenzy and fights furiously without regard for friend or foe.
