Five Great Clans

The Five Great Clans of Frysgard are some of the most powerful and influential clans on the continent, most notably denoted as the founding clans of the Nordguard. They are the Frostclaw Clan, Irontooth Clan, Shatterhammer Clan, Stormsail Clan, and the Whitemane Clan. Before the founding of the Nordguard, the five were bitter enemies for large parts of their shared history, going back to the settling of Frysgard, and all but the Frostclaw have held dominion over most of the continent at one point.

History

All of the Great Clans claim descent from a great hero of the People of Loup, save for the Whitemanes, who claim descent from Fenrir himself, who has neither confirmed nor denied that claim.
