White dragon

White dragons are a type of chromatic dragons spawned from Vrātu, the White Shard of Ardothun. They are the most graceful of the chromatic dragons and are both considered sacred by the Singular Order as symbols of purity and raw power, as well as generally well regarded among many of the civilized peoples, to the point that the sight of one (from afar) is considered a good omen in Mithros. In Frysgard, however, this notion is turned on its head, where white dragons are the most common, and due to their propensity for being ruthless apex predators and frequently commanding their kobold minions in raids on lesser Fenran settlements out of the Nordguard's reach.

As implied by their icy breath weapon, their preferred habitats is in cold climates, and as such they're by far the most numerous in Frysgard, but not uncommon in Kyaww-catar or the north of Mithros either.

The White Dragonflight

The split in opinion of the civilized peoples of white dragons is somewhat mirrored in the different population groups' opinions of each other. Mithrosi white dragons consider themselves noble and virtuous and are often taken aback by the comparative brutishness of their Frysgardian counterparts, while Frysgardian white dragons are more concerned with earthly matters and think of their Mithrosi counterparts as weak and ineffectual. As such, the different sectors of the dragonflight have different leadership, with the Mithrosi half being led by Vrātu themselves, and the Frysgardian half led by Vitr, an ancient white dragon who is known to the Gardic Civilization as having fought Sigurd Wyrm-Foe to a standstill.

Despite this, the White Dragonflight presents an unified front to the Flightsmoot. As a symbol of this, the comparatively young (as of 10110 DC, 352 years old) dragon Jātikku, who is the get of Vitr and Alasora, a descendant of Vrātu with a close working relationship to them, currently serves as the dragonflight's Speaker.
