Singular Order

The Singular Order is a hybridized religious order that worships the Singular Deity, and a geopolitical state in Mithros, and one of the most powerful religious orders in military might, second only to the Leviathanic Guard of the Aquantis Dominion. It is headed by the Archcleric of Whitehaven, who has supreme power over the Order. Its principal doctrines are summarized in the Profession of One True Faith.

Following the aftermath of the Coalition coup of Cania, they established a state identity centered around Whitehaven as a capital. It is called the Holy Confederation of New Brightrealm.

Structure

The Singular Order is led by clergy who have received the Calling Most True, a blessing conferred personally by the Archcleric or Vice Archcleric. There are three levels of clergy; High Clerics whose members are usually given a geographical jurisdiction to lead called a Clergiate, Priests, who lead local gatherings, and Acolytes, who assist in ceremonial duties. In addition, lay members participate directly in certain ceremonies.

The Archclergy and the Whitehaven Clergiate Assembly

The Singular Order's hierarchy is headed by the High Cleric of Whitehaven, usually referred to as the Archcleric, who is the leader of the entire Order over all of its territory. The office of the Archcleric is referred to as the Archclergy. The order holds that the Singular Deity appeared to the Archcleric himself and instituted the office by bestowing upon him the relic known as the Key to Heaven. Serving directly under him is the Whitehaven Clergiate Assembly, the central governing body which oversees the day-to-day affairs of the Singular Order. The rank of Exarch is a badge of honor bestowed upon certain clerics who have distinguished themselves in service to the Singular Order, such as leaders within the Whitehaven Clergiate Assembly, High Clerics of major settlements, and esteemed theologians.

The Militants Templar

The Militants Templar are the military arm of the Singular Order. They have been instrumental in the meteoric rise to power that the Order achieved during the Coalition coup of Cania, in particular with the acts of capturing Whitehaven and the Hallow Hill district of Cania. The Militants Templar are led by a Grandmaster Templar, who reports directly to the Archcleric.

Doctrine

The Singular Deity

The Singular Order holds that there is one eternal deity superior to all other deities, even the Primordials, who speaks their will directly to the Archcleric. The Archcleric holds the Key to Heaven, whose matching door will be revealed when the time is right.

The Singular Order

The Singular Order teaches that their faith is the one true faith - all other faiths are seen as heresy and are to be purged. The Order's Book of Founding describes several events integral to the formation of the Order. Order members' belief holds that the Singular Order is a "Bright light of wisdom above an eternally deep chasm of willful ignorance", and that it alone lights the way to Heaven, an afterlife that deviates from the cycle of reincarnation and allegedly, those who reach it shall attain eternal bliss.

History

Ascent to Heavensreach

The Archcleric's claim to having discovered the universal truth of Zairis at Heavensreach's peak is the core of the Order's belief system, and thus the foundational element to the existence of the Order in the first place. He claims to have made such a journey in 10043 DC, which is regarded as Year One of the New Brightrealm Calendar.
