Winterpoint

Winterpoint is a city sitting on a small peninsula in the Northranges region of Mithros. It is under the control of the Royalist Alliance of Mithros and is the largest port city on he north shores of Mithros. As such, it serves as the primary transit point across the Wintersea for the Royalists to and from Stormark, their sole remaining colony in Frysgard.

History

The current (as of 10110 DC) incarnation of the settlement of Winterpoint dates back to the Mithril Era, and was established by a group of arctic vulpine defectors from the magi-monastic orders that had been established in Frysgard in the Pre-Draconic Era, who built the new city on top of older ruins.

Geography

The city of Winterpoint is situated on the northwestern shores of a peninsula of the same name, named for its 'pointing' into the Wintersea. It has the distinction of being the northernmost city in Mithros, and the third northernmost city in Zairis with over 1 million inhabitants.

Climate

Due to its northerly status, Winterpoint is subject to the coldest winters and sees the greatest amount of snowfall of all population centers in Mithros.
