Underdeep Blightlands

The Underdeep Blightlands are several regions in the south of Dunieth that have been irreparably blighted by demonic miasma in the most devastating demonic invasion of Zairis of all time, shortly after Abraxas was accused of Ardothun's murder and imprisoned by their fellow Primordials. It is bordered by the Ka'aras Sovereignty and Darkfallow to the north-east.

The Underdeep Blightlands are featured in the top listed entry on the International Registry of Miasmic Zones, which holds its own unique classification of 'Irreversible'.

Population

The Underdeep Blightlands are widely recognized to be one of the most dangerous places in Zairis, surpassing even Glasjer's extremely hostile weather conditions. It has no permanent populace of the civilized peoples, but the Ka'aras Sovereignty and Darkfallow maintain a joint force, known as the Blightlands Rangers, whose mission is to patrol the borders of the region to keep the demonic beasts who roam the blightlands from encroaching upon unblighted lands.

Legends purport that Abraxas' avatar and his archdemons reside in the heart of the blightlands.
