Ka'aran Jade Shard

Ka'aran Jade Shards (ड, KJS) are the official currency of the Ka'aras Sovereignty. Depending on the denomination of the specific piece of currency, it can take one of several shapes, but the codified shape used in high profile exchanges is that of a small tablet of jade, about the size of a credit card, and five times as thick, with intricate designs sculpted into them and embedded with gold.

Denominations

Shard (ड1)

The lowest denomination of the Jade Shards is the original archaic form of the currency - unrefined shards of jade of variable size (often about the size of a copper sen) that are plentiful in Ka'aras.

Tile (ड10)

The first incremental denomination came in the form of a small polished square jade tile (about 1.5 cm²) carved with the ड symbol. It and the ड10 version were first introduced by the Skar Empire.

Gilded Tile (ड50)

Following increased inflation, there was demand for a higher denomination of the Skar Empire's tile currency, and thus, the gilded tile, a version of the tile with the ड carving inlaid with gold, was introduced.

Basic Tablet (ड100)

The Ka'aras Sovereignty overhauled the currency system of the nation in 5785 DC, and introduced the tablet form. The basic tablet is mostly blank, only featuring a single ड symbol inlaid with gold, as well as a hole allowing it to be strung on a necklace or a similar item for easy safekeeping.

Grain Tablet (ड200)

Every denomination from the grain tablet and up features an image of some manner. The grain tablet features an ear of wheat inlaid with gold into the tablet, slightly increasing the gold content relative to the basic tablet. This image was chosen to honor the agriculture industry of Ka'aras.

Craftsman Tablet (ड500)

The craftsman tablet features an image of a hammer and a chisel, to honor the craftsman class of Ka'aras.

Pyramid Tablet (ड1000)

With the highest gold content of the tablets originally introduced by the Sovereignty, the pyramid tablet holds the highest value.

Inverted Pyramid Tablet (ड5000)

In 8118 DC, answering the demand for a higher denomination, the Sovereignty minted a ड5000 tablet, with the special distinction of being mostly made of solid gold where the pyramid tablet had jade, and vice versa, using the same image as the original pyramid tablet.

Phoenix Tablet (ड10000)

The Phoenix tablet was unveiled simultaneously at the Decamillenium Festivals of both Ka'aras City and Ruby. It is a new denomination of the Jade Shard, but one that proved controversial as it had no jade in it whatsoever. Instead, it was made out of gold, featuring an image of Phoenix, the most popular deity worshiped in Ka'aras, inlaid with ruby.
