Ka'aran cuisine
Ka'aran cuisine is strongly marked by the desert climate that dominates most of Ka'aras. The vast majority of the national food stocks of the Ka'aras Sovereignty is cultivated by the Rhuxai River, along which the three major cities of the Sovereignty, Ka'aras City, Ruby, and Ska-rui were built.
Beverages
Ka'aran Coffee
Some of the first humans to visit and settle in Ka'aras brought the coffee plant with them, ostensibly for the purpose of finding a climate suitable for cultivating it in. The experiment was a success, and as of 10110 DC, coffee made from beans cultivated in Ka'aras is one of the most popular varieties consumed all around Zairis. In Ka'aras, it is traditionally enjoyed black, but some may prefer to take the edge off by adding goat milk or honey.
Rhuxai Beer
Based on ancient tradition, Rhuxai Beer is very cloudy and has a thicker consistency than beers brewed elsewhere in Zairis. It is brewed from barley or wheat, and sometimes includes flavorants such as honey, mint, or pomegranate.
Desserts
Scorpion Stingers
Scorpion stingers are snack cakes with a crispy outer shell shaped like its namesake, filled with a strongly peppermint-flavored jelly. They're famous for the tingly sensation the jelly leaves on the tongue when consumed.

Skink Skewer
Skinks are commonly hunted for food among desert nomads and less affluent city folk. In the cities, skewered skinks as street food is a common everyday sight for those venturing through the market districts.

Considered a staple in Ka'aran cuisine, Skar Yams wre first cultivated in the Ska-rui Valley They are typically boiled, fried, or roasted as a side with meat dishes.
