Miacid

The Miacids were the first of the civilized peoples of Zairis, who were created and favored by the Primordial deity Iris as her chosen people. They came into being on the continent of Mithros, but wound up spreading beyond it, into the continent of Dunieth, where they evolved away from each other, both physically and culturally. Some remained in Mithros and became the vulpines, named for the the last great power of the Miacids, the Vul Empire. The first group to emigrate to Dunieth, following a cultural schism in Mithros, were the Followers of Fel, who wound up settling some of the regions of Dunieth that correspond to a large portion of the Nikosian Empire in current times and became the felines. Somewhat later, a second diasporic group, the People of Loup, also sailed for Dunieth, settled further north, and would eventually come to be known as Fenrans.

Perhaps ironically, the best known miacid historical figures are the ones who are arguably the most responsible for the splintering of the race, Fel and Loup.

Appearance

Although no miacids exist in Zairis as of 10110 DC, their appearance is well known, since Iris herself takes the form of one.
