Zauana

Zauana is a province of the Nikosian Empire characterized with its vast, somewhat wooded grassland and lies to the northeast of Ka'aras, south of Leograu, and north of Darkfallow. It is the ancestral homeland of the swift felines, and its provincial capital is Tephuil.

History

The region was settled by a faction of the Followers of Fel who sought the experience of living off the land in tribal hunter-gatherer societies, and established the Zauana Freelands for the purpose of doing so, and remained that way for several millenia.

The hunter-gatherer lifestyle came to an end once the territory was conquered by the Leograu Empire around 2500 DC.

Tephuil Administrative District

The Tephuil Administrative District consists of the city of Tephuil and immediate suburbs and surrounding rural areas.

Zauana Freelands Autonomous Reserve

The Zauana Freelands Autonomous Reserve, while nominally part of the province of Zauana, and by extension, a federal subject of the Nikosian Empire, is managed and governed with respect to the traditions and philosophy of the original Zauana Freelands and is left to self-govern without much outside interference.
