Ruby Mining Guild

The Ruby Mining Guild is a trade association responsible for overseeing the majority of the city of Ruby's namesake mines as well as much of the city's infrastructure relating to those mines.

History

Founding

The Ruby Mining Guild was founded in 4990 DC by an alliance of holders of Imperial Charters issued by the Skar Empire that allowed them to own and operate mines in the then-small town of Ruby. This enabled them to cooperate on controlling the vast majority of the empire's supply of the precious stone, which in turn, vastly increased each of the signatories' personal wealth and economical power, contributing to the town's eventual growth to the economical powerhouse of a city it is as of 10110.

Citizens' Revolt

It is no secret that the Ruby Mining Guild was the power behind the success of the Citizens' Revolt of 5755 that led to the Skar Empire's downfall, having supplied arms and funds to several rebel groups, as the Emperor had openly called for the abolition of the Ruby Mining Guild and nationalization of its mines, due to its allegedly undue influence on the Empire's politics beyond its intended geographical scope of the city of Ruby and its surrounding environs. The successor state of the Ka'aras Sovereignty was founded under the auspices of the Guild leadership, with Jalai Rhuxa, a former Guild Chairman who had recently stepped down from the position, being elected as its first prime minister.
