Medellus

Medellus is a mining city near the tip of Dragontail Peninsula, distinctive for its mines, which are the largest and most diverse source of valuable minerals in all of Zairis, as well as its unique structure of being built more vertically than horizontally on account of its placement by the slopes of the Dragontail Mountains and the quarries which extend further underground as the years go on. It is currently held by the Royalist Alliance of Mithros and is sometimes credited with near-singlehandedly keeping the Alliance afloat financially due to its massive economic output.

Demographics

Of the 2.4 million inhabitants of Medellus, the most populous ethnic group is white dracons, followed by rock and forge kobolds, and argent vulpines.

Government

The Alliance only has a minimal role in the government of Medellus. Most of the overseeing of the day-to-day affairs of Medellus is done by the Medellus Mining Company, headed by its CEO and the mayor-for-life of Medellus, Joakim Isenberg.

Resources

The most prominent and significant minerals mined out of Medellus' quarries are gold, zinc, and nickel.
