Dreams of Korado
Dreams of Korado: An Exposé is a documentary film released in 10107, written and directed by journalist Kade Romavi, about the Korado Heights neighborhood within the Commercial District of Cania and its extensive dark side, tackling subjects such as gambling, sex trafficking, organized crime, and the matter of the complicity of city authorities, both pre- and post-coup, in the atrocities that have happened there over the course of its history.
Synopsis
The film opens on a broad-strokes overview of the neighborhood's history, touching on the life of Faron Korado, for whom the neighborhood is named, as well as naming various other key figures in its development. The last third of the introductory section details some key locations in the city, each of which gets a dedicated chapter in the film.
Following the introductory section, a dramatization of what appears to be a typical clubbing night for a group of young adults, is shown, with the group choosing a club whose name is blurred out in the footage, but can clearly be recognized as local club Down2Rise. The scene depicts heavy drinking and light drug use, but is ultimately uneventful as the group leaves the club and proceeds to a casino. This part of the dramatization is accompanied by a narration on the exploitative practices of the casinos - and notes that this phenomenon is sadly not unique to Korado Heights - and sees the group gamble themselves into debt to the casino, at which point casino enforcers escort them into a backroom.
