PLEASE NOTE: This list of spells was initially composed as a short sampler of spells for a draft of a tabletop RPG conversion for Zairis that is no longer in development. As such, this list is in no way representative of the breadth of the spellcasting lore of Zairis. Further down the line, this list can be expected to be totally revamped with a vastly different system.

List of spells

The following is a list of spells that can be cast in Zairis, sorted by element and discipline.

Fire

Pyrokinesis (T0-4)

Casting time: Two seconds.

Effect: Manipulate and create fire. As this spell is mastered, the user will be able to perform increasingly powerful effects via this spell.

Tier Zero: At this level, the user is not able to create fire, merely control it to a small extent. They may maintain a flame that is already present at a distance of up to 5m, cause it to leap from one source to another, or decrease or amplify its intensity.

Tier One: At this level, the user can create fire and hurl small jets of flame at their target at a distance of up to 10m.

Tier Two: At this level, this spell is an area effect attack that deals its damage to everything within a radius of 5m from the targeted point, and at a distance of up to 20m.

Tier Three: 4x the blast radius from T2. Range increases to 50m.

Tier Four: 10x the blast radius from T2. Range increases to 100m.

Darkness

Terrifying Shadow (T2)

Casting time: 5-10 seconds.

Effect: The user modifies their own shadow to increase in size and twist in shape to something terrifying.

Void

Flicker (T2)

Gesture: The caster snaps their fingers.

Casting time: The time it takes the caster to snap their fingers.

Effect: The caster or a target at a distance of up to 20m flickers out of existence for a split second. This may be used to avoid an attack aimed at the target at the exact moment it would hit, or simply for a visual effect.

Side/Secondary Effects: Repeated use within a short period of time may cause the target to continually flicker visually for a while.

Manifestation: The target's form blurs for a second before and after the spell takes effect.

Void

Aura Drain (T4)

Casting time: Instantaneous.

Effect: Aura Drain negates the effects of a target power or spell and adds the Aura spent on it to the caster's own Aura pool.

Manifestation:The visual manifestation of the target spell appears to distort and get sucked into the caster's body or auratic focus.
